People Say Love Is Difficult

Love is often described as difficult
because of communication,
timing,
incompatibility.

But more often, it's difficult
because
something is being managed.

Tone.
Reactions.
Expectations.
Outcomes.

Management creates distance.
Quietly.
Subtle.
But there.

Because it keeps the body
slightly ahead of the moment.

When nothing is being managed,
the body settles back into the present.

Less commentary.
Less preparation.
Less silent rehearsal.
Less silent replay.

Things don't necessarily feel amazing.
Hyped.
Intense.

They feel real.
And real has room to breathe.

When management is seen clearly,

without trying to stop it,

something softens.
